The children narrate ¤ Hotel Barsalini - Elba Island
We are in the 60's. The first tourists descover the beauty of S.Andrea. Day after day the little beach become full of sunshades. The resident people decide to offer some fresh drinks and some dishes of pasta.
Among these ones, our grandfather Dino and his wife think to give hospitality to the guests. He discovers that this new activity is the most profitable you can do in this island.
At the beginning they have not many tables, but dishes cooked with simplicity and ability by our grandmother, like very much to the tourists, which year by year become more and more numerous. Dad grows up by learning cooking's secrets and the art of hospitality.
In 1962 Dad and Mum get married.
The first years are very hard, for this reason they decide to leave Sant'Andrea to learn a trade and a foreign language.
Dad works for some years in Germany as waitress. Mum grows the first-born Giuseppina in Sestri Levante where she works as chambermaid in a big hotel.
Seeing that the activity of our grandfather Dino pays more and more, Dad and Mum decide to come back home with more experience than before to help the grandparents.
They works hardly and as a consequence they manage to turn the "Trattoria Barsalini" into the "Piccolo Hotel Barsalini".
In 1969 is born Barbara, the second-born and in 1971 Davide, the last son.
Following the 2 last generations of our family, we decide to help our parents in this trade, too. We have a lot of guests, more and more fond and the rooms double.
Now the family is more numerous, but we live all here, with our traditions and care for this job and this hotel grown with us.
